Self Aligning Ball Bearings has a spherical outer raceway. The center of this raceway coincides with the center of the bearing itself. Due to this specific design the rolling elements rotate and align themselves in the event they are misaligned. Self Aligning Ball Bearings are very useful in applications where there is a displacement of the centers around the shaft and housing rotate and deflection are likely to occur. Self aligning bearings come in a pressed steel cage, snap-type steel cage and copper alloy machined cages.
